CONCEPT
The design of Lord Stow Bakery & Café celebrates the life, works, and mission of the late English-born Macau resident Andrew Stow. Known affectionately as “Lord Stow” by locals, he played a key role in reviving the peninsula’s interest in Portuguese pasteis de nata (egg tarts), creating his own signature version that sparked a culinary craze across Asia. The Lord Stow’s design incorporates four important elements of his life: his English roots (English traditional), his early career in pharmaceuticals (industrial elements), his later culinary fame (laboratory-inspired details), and the story of his journey (memory).

BAKERY
The bakery area blends tradition and innovation, expressing Lord Stow’s spirit. The show kitchen is designed as a contemporary laboratory space, while the retail counter combines traditional elements with a contemporary foundation.

DINING
Dining space is mixture of industrial element with memorial and laboratory features. Overall architectural elements such as floor, wall, and ceiling is inspired by industrial design. Within such envelope, FF&E selections are mixture of traditional and industrial selection, while decorative lightings are inspired by laboratory testing tubes. As a feature element of the space, Lord Stow photo collage feature wall to be the main focal point of the seating area.
