Penta Hotel Taikoo Li’s lobby lounge, housed in a triple-height atrium, is a unique, multifunctional space that bridges the distinction between standard hotel guests and the local community of Chengdu. Innovations in zoning and layout are central to this achievement. Visitors entering the hotel are first greeted not by standard reception staff looking to simply check guests in and funnel them to their rooms, but by a full concierge counter providing immediate refreshments and links to the hotel’s dining and socializing options, including a stylish beer bar and open outdoor BBQ terrace. This is a warm, inviting space for travelers and locals alike. 

The center of the hotel’s ground floor is the concierge desk, where guests are connected to the hotel’s various facilities and services. New arrivals to the city can check into their rooms from here, or relax, lounge about, and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat. Chengdu locals are invited to do the same. Industrial and contemporary design elements, such as the colorful shipping container walls and replicas of local Chengdu graffiti, give the lobby lounge its youthful, vibrant identity as an alternative space at once global and local.

BEER BAR

Another point of interest is the Lobby’s Beer Bar. Entering parties encounter two seating options: a large communal table, and high barstool-style seating, both located in close proximity to the concierge desk. This is a great choice for guests who want to enjoy a drink during check-in or check-out. A range of additional seating selections line the remaining areas of the lobby’s interior, as well as the outdoor terrace, popular places where overnight guests mix with hip locals.
