LIFT LOOBY
BEAK OUT & TIME OUT SPACE
There are times when spatial limitations spark creative innovation in design. The Penta Hotel at Wang Wang’s combined lift lobby and break out/time out corridor illuminates this phenomenon. We eschewed traditional types of FF&E instead favoring inventive and novel solutions. Here, colorful custom-designed cabinetry in the central corridor makes full use of the confined space offering guests combined storage and seating, while removable partitions with sound-absorbing fabric provide privacy when needed.
BOARD ROOM
The aim for Wang Wang’s boardrooms is the merging of classic design and multifunctionality. Sound-absorbing movable partitions constructed from durable bronze and black steel frames can be used to alter boardroom forms and arrangements. By reconfiguring the partitions, the available space can be transformed from several smaller boardrooms to more expansive ones. The partitions can even be removed entirely combining the boardroom area with the nearby breakout room, allowing a transition from formal-to-casual with ease.
THINK TANK ROOM
The ethos of the hotel’s Think Tank is freedom and transparency. We wanted to inspire openness and a relief from the typical confinements of more traditional hotel boardroom spaces. The use of movable partitions–in these rooms constructed with transparent materials–allow easy movement and reconfiguration whenever the flow of ideas changes course. The aesthetic is classic and serene, with oak wall panels and antique mirrors giving the space its sophisticated air, while the teak pantry bar and cabinetry imbue comfort and warmth.
